Production and Project Management in SAP Business One 10.0
With enhancements that improve departmental functionality, Version 10 stands out with its contributions to the lifeblood of companies — production and project management. The Gantt chart simplifies project management as the foundation of planning, while bills of materials are now much more advanced and flexible.
Production
Bill of Materials (BoM) Descriptions
With the upgrade in bill of materials descriptions, main item data descriptions can now be automatically updated within the related bill of materials. This aims to provide greater flexibility in processing material and resource descriptions.
Navigation between items/products and their related bills of materials has become significantly easier. An update made to the main item description within a bill of materials is automatically reflected in the item description. Material and resource descriptions can still be edited within both the bill of materials and production order components.
Detailing in the Bill of Materials
Version 10.0 aims to address the need for easier navigation within the product tree. Drilling down from a bill of materials to the main item data is now much simpler, providing flexibility in system navigation.
When any main item data is selected, it is now possible to drill down from the item number to the parent material or items. This makes it easier to analyze levels within the product structure and access related components.
Project Management
Interactive Gantt Chart
The Interactive Gantt Chart enables projects to be updated based on planning changes. This allows project managers or coordinators to plan more easily and visually.
The Interactive Gantt Chart allows project phases to be moved, expanded, or shortened interactively. With the addition of new fields representing project end date and completion date, managing the process becomes clearer and faster.
