SAP Business One 10 – Inventory, Stock Management, and Distribution
SAP Business One 10.0 is packed with highly anticipated features and platform enhancements. We continue to explore the improvements it offers to users worldwide in our Innovations Series. In this article, we focus on the highlights and benefits of the feature upgrades in the Inventory, Stock Management, and Distribution functions.
Inventory, Stock Management, and Distribution in SAP Business One 10.0
With enhancements that improve departmental functionality, Version 10 increases flexibility and traceability in the key business areas related to products and warehouse operations — Inventory, Stock Management, and Distribution.
Serial and Batch Number Management
The upgrade in Serial and Batch Number Management aims to improve reporting and enhance batch/serial traceability. Serial Number Management and Batch Management now include the ability to make updates on Pre-Delivery Invoices and Inventory Transfer Requests.
New fields — Target Warehouse Code and Target Warehouse Name — have been added to the Serial/Batch Number Management Update form, providing extended update functionality. When updating serial numbers and batches, more document options are now available. This allows for better reporting on warehouse codes related to stock transfer operations. With this feature, batch/serial tracking reports and newly enhanced reports introduced with PL01 take traceability to the next level.
Changing the Unit of Measure Group in Item Master Data
This enhancement aims to provide greater flexibility in modifying the Unit of Measure (UoM) group relationships for Item Master Data. UoM Groups can now be changed within an Item Master Data record.
To perform this, the new Unit of Measure Group must have at least the same conversion rules as the original UoM Group. To complete the process, it is sufficient to close any open documents in which the UoM Group definitions have been modified.
